USATF National Championship Prize Money

For those who are competing in the 2011 USATF 100 Mile Trail National Championship at the Burning River 100 on July 30-31, below is the breakdown of prize money for the event.

Total Prize Money: $10,000+

Each of the following prizes are available for both the USATF Male and Female categories:

Overall (open)

1st $1250
2nd $900
3rd $700
4th $500
5th $300

Age Groups

Each USATF age group winner wins $250: 
40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+.
(NOTE: each runner may win only ONE award - overall or age group)

Notes:

To be eligible for prize money, runners must be USATF members and US citizens at the time of the race. (See http://www.usatf.org/membership for more info or to become a USATF member.) Runners must also follow USATF rules and race-specific rules for national championship runners. To distinguish between the two groups National Championship runners must wear an additional back bib throughout the racewith the runner's age .

For example, championship runners will NOT be allowed to have a pacer at any time during the race. (Non-championship runners will be able to have a pacer beginning at approximately Mile 55.) USATF Runners will only win ONE prize. e.g. If the first place runner is 40 years old, he or she will win the $1250 overall prize and not the $250 top masters prize.

Prize money checks will be mailed out approximately one week after the event.

Burning River 100 General Awards

There will also be the regular (non-monetary) overall awards(non-USATF): 1st-3rd overall, 1st Masters (40-49) and 1st Grandmasters (50+)

Updated course information including course maps are linked on the home page. The 2011 course will be slightly different from courses of previous years primarily because of trail and road closures.
